When will the BBC’s Jon Donnison learn? His tweet purporting to show a Gazan child injured as a result of an Israeli airstrike earned him a place in the 2012 Dishonest Reporting Awards after it was revealed that the photo was actually from the Syrian conflict.

Now Donnison, despite currently being posted to Sydney, Australia, has weighed in with this tweet about the death of Palestinian official Ziad Abu Ein from a heart attack while confronting Israeli soldiers.

Except that footage from the scene clearly shows a female IDF medic attempting to clear the area so that she can administer first aid to Abu Ein before he is picked up and taken away by Palestinians, something that is clearly shown in video from Sky News (screenshot below).

Perhaps Donnison should think twice before tweeting any footage or reports supplied by Kremlin propaganda outfit Russia Today (should BBC journalists be tweeting RT content at all?).

Looks like another apology for a false tweet is in order for Jon Donnison.
