It’s an otherwise forgettable analysis of Israeli plans to develop E1. Could Reuters possibly have come up with a more sensationalized headline?

Doomsday?

By whipping up hysteria, Reuters distracts readers from the real doomsday of December 21, when the Mayan calendar ends and the apocalypse begins.

Take a deep breath. As Elliott Abrams explains, the E1 controversy is “much ado about little.”

And as I explained earlier this week, despite the hype, E1 doesn’t divide the West Bank in two.
