Hamas confirms that Gaza’s not occupied by Israel. YNet News quotes Mahmoud Zahar:
“Popular resistance is inappropriate for the Gaza Strip,” al-Zahar said. “Against whom exactly would be rally? Such resistance would be fitting if Gaza was occupied.” However, he claimed that all forms of resistance – including the armed kind – are appropriate for the West Bank, as it is “still under occupation.”
- We knew it all along.
- Tell it to the flotilla movement.
- It undercuts the propaganda value of this week’s Ismail Haniyeh trip to Turkey, where Haniyeh met with Prime Minister Erdogan and visited the Mavi Marmara.
- If Robert Fisk, the Comment is Free crowd, and George Galloway are more Palestinian than Hamas, they’ll denounce Zahar as soft on the occupation. After all, that was their reaction to the PaliLeaks.
- The rockets will continue anyway.
