HR Prompts Sky News to Correct a Political Error

It’s an accepted fact of American political life that the vast majority of US Jews vote Democrat. And while popular with more conservative and religiously orthodox parts of the Jewish community, US President Donald Trump’s policies towards Israel haven’t appeared to substantially move the dial.

So it was surprising to see a Sky News analysis of the Trump peace plan suggesting that Trump and Netanyahu were appealing “to their domestic bases: Israeli right wingers and Jewish American voters.”

We tweeted Sky News journalist Mark Stone:

You are right. This is badly written. Its not appealing to his traditional base but is designed to draw American Jewish support. I will correct it.

Credit to Mark for swiftly acknowledging the error and changing the text, which now reads:

The plan they jointly unveiled, and without the Palestinians, is designed to lure their electorates: Israeli right-wingers and American Jewish and Christian evangelical voters.
