Newly minted The New York Times Jerusalem Bureau Chief Patrick Kingsley has effectively called for the replacement of Israel with a bi-national state. In his latest article, Kingsley insinuates that Palestinians should have the right to vote in the March 23 Israeli elections.
In doing so, Kingsley is essentially espousing support for a “one-state solution.” That proposal entails incorporating into Israel some 4.5 million Palestinians and extending to them voting rights. In practice, this formula would ultimately end Jewish sovereignty. That is why the diplomatic mantra for nearly 30 years has been “…the establishment of a Palestinian state living side-by-side in peace with Israel.”

It is not the first time that Kinglsey has expressed this view. When reporting on the Israeli elections in March 2020, he made a similar assertion. Moreover, in 2019, he accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of “forbidding non-Jews to exercise the right to self-determination.” Indeed, there is seemingly a disturbing pattern baked into Kingsley’s work.
