One of my lasting memories was people commenting “You did well” – just as though I was personally responsible for Israel’s victory!
Also our second son was born a month after the war and we named him Moshe Yisroel – a constant reminder of the importance of the year of his birth.
I also remember that Rabbi Shebson called a meeting in the Talmud Torah to raise money and show solidarity and the response was overwhelming. Why is that people have to wait for an emergency before they will act?
