An article in The Independent profiled Israel’s efforts to fortify its border with Jordan in response to ISIS and other Middle East turmoil. The story included this paragraph:
HonestReporting contacted The Independent to point out that Israel’s security barrier is actually some 90% chain-link fence and certainly not a contiguous “high wall.” This is not the first time that The Independent has got its facts wrong with regard to the security barrier, referring to a “430 mile-long wall” in November 2014.
We got the correction that time and once again, The Independent has agreed to make a change. The text in this latest article now reads:
The West Bank, too, is almost entirely fenced off by chain-link fencing, aimed at protecting Israel from Palestinian attack.
