Reuters reports that Turkey has turned down all offers of foreign assistance.
A Turkish foreign ministry official said later that Turkey had received offers of help from dozens of countries after the magnitude 7.2 quake, and had so far declined assistance from all of them.
Yet their headline (and the rest of the dispatch) grabs for a sexy angle that simply doesn’t exist. In other words, this is a non-story.
If it turns out that the Turks are worried about IDF field hospitals staffed by medics wielding paintball guns rappelling into the disaster zone, that would be a story.
