Bravo – I’m impressed (surprised) that CNN actually had the courage to fire this person. I no longer watch CNN because of their bias against Israel

I don’t think every time a journalist has an opinion or a thought that the immediate result should be them being fired. Everyone has a bias. EVERYONE. It’s the job of the editors in the various news rooms around the world to police their staff to reflect either objectivity or the left or right wing bias that is typical for CNN, FOX News, CBC or Al Jazeera. Steeping over the line os one thing. having a personal opinion on a tweet is another. You can’t go s- canning every reporter for every comment they make – or what they think personally – stupid or otherwise. What would you do with Christian Amanpour – clearly a biaed reporter – or Peter Mansbridge who exudes a balanced approach but I am 100% sure harbours some ‘dark thoughts’ ? They all have points of view and are entitled to them So this reporter ‘respect’ a terrorist. While she might think “kill all the Jews” she didn’t say it out loud. Had she done that it would be a different story. But she didn’t cross that line. And in the reports I have seen her file on the news she might have a bias but she still doesn’t cross the line. Helen Thomas was a different case. She got what she deserved. In this case I think her being fired awas over the top. And I think that while Honest reporting stives for objectivity in rpeorting, they shouldn’t be crowing about how they got another reporter silenced. having alternate points of view is what it’s all about. Or do you actually want the sanitized reporting that always supports one view point ?

The work of Honest Reporting is vital in opposing such open bias. Respecting a terrorist is an admission of Nasr’s sympathies. She knows that when she uses her full name, even in a tweet, she is (thank goodness, “WAS”) a senior person at CNN. I don’t know who still watches CNN, but there needs to be public recognition of their slant. And yes, do look into Christiana Amanpour’s bias. And the NPR program hosted by Diane Rehm is equally appalling in constantly discussing Israel’s occupation, inhumane treatment of Palestinians, with no sense that there is any opposing view or admission that the Palestinians want more, more, more, with no concessions on their side or admission of their actions and hatred of Israel. The media needs to be monitored for the drumbeat of anti-Israel/anti-Semitic bias.
Thank you, Honest Reporting, for your important work, and congratulations on your successes!

The British Ambassador to Lebanon should also be fired – by the Foreign Office. Frances Guy wrote on her blog a sickly sweet eulogy for Fadlallah.
Please see:
http://blogs.fco.gov.uk/roller/guy/entry/the_passing_of_decent_men
Of the 11 comments she received, 10 thanked her for her beautiful words. Only Con Coughlin – the renowned journalist – countered her twisted remarks.
I submitted the following comment which I’m waiting to see if the moderator accepts:
“I agree with the journalist Con Coughlin who seems the only person (unlike Ambassador Guy) to really know Fadlallah. Fadlallah provided the fatwa to the suicide bomber who murdered 241 US Marines serving as peacekeepers in Beirut in 1983. Fadlallah supported the seizure and hostage-taking at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran in 1979. Fadlallah backed suicide bombing attacks in 2002, and praised Iran’s efforts to build long-range missiles as the “pride of the Islamic world” in 2008. He also praised the murderer of 8 Jewish students in Jerusalem. So “reaching out across faiths” didn’t apply to Jews.”

YES!!! Thank you Honest Reporting for your tireless efforts against the omnipresent anti-semitism proliferating the globe. CNN – truthful reporting? I think not, and yes, you might add Christian Amanpour to the list of undesirables and icon of bias (exceedingly pro-Arab-Islamic) proclivities – to be exceedingly polite. Never lag in your efforts and perserverence, HR – I applaud you wholeheartedly, as a 1st generation American Jew, born of Holocaust survivor parents. Bravo!!!

If Fadlallah changed his philosophy and condemned killing civilians in his later years, he became a rare moderate and should be praised for this, and there is nothing wrong in saying so in a private Tweeter note. That does not mean I condone Ms. Nasr’s official media reports and the rest of the one-sided pro-Palestinian news reports. I donate to all Israeli Hasbarah efforts.

I am glad to see Ms. Nasr disappear. She obviously thought that she was back at home in her country where it is normal to glorify terrorists. Although CNN is to be commended for having done the right thing, I doubt that they were not “coerced” into taking such action. Could it be because they suddenly acquired moral and ethical values?
