Faked Photo? What Faked Photo?

July 4, 2012 9:44 by

The Independent has removed the faked photo that we exposed in our video. We would guess that the move was sparked by all the angry letters they received from HonestReporting members.

While that’s good news, it’s not good enough. That’s because the Independent has actually used this staged photo of Palestinian children pretending to be in an Israeli prison on more than one occasion.

The right thing would be for them to publish an explanation of why they used an obviously staged photo.

The right thing would be for them to assure readers that the same thing will not happen again.

The right thing would be for them to agree not to use any more photos from the Gazan freelancer who set up and took the shot. It’s not like they don’t have an Errors and Omissions page.

Think they will do the right thing?

Why not ask them?

Write to them at: newseditor@independent.co.uk

And remind them that this is how they originally published the article:

Take ‘em to court – the only action that works. Expose the action to all sponsors. Not doing so infers a lack of confidence and serious intent.

You’re absolutely right. Exposure to the world is the only thing that will work. Most thinking people know that Israel does NOT put children – any children – in jail, Palestinian or anyone’s children. But they (The Independent, BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera, etc.) are going to try. And those of us who know the truth need to keep pushing it and, in the end, the truth will win out.

Mark, exposure to the world? There is so much anti-Semitism in the world, and fed by the main-stream-media, that anything dealing with Israel will be distorted and misrepresented. That said, the truth will never be revealed. Twenty years ago, I asked my Jewish friends if they believed that there would ever be peace in the middle-east, all responded… within 5 years. I stated to them there will never be peace in the middle-east, and I have not changed my thoughts, since then, on this subject.

it amazes me, that the people who advertise themselves as being the most enlightened, and most liberal, are often also the most dishonest and least tolerant. they tend to be able to excuse even the ugliest of behaviors on their own part, in the name of their “cause”. the British media has made itself the poster child for exactly this kind of behavior. half truths, exaggerations and outright lies are the norm. anyone trusting the British media for an unbiased, reality based “news” story regarding Israel and the middle east, may as well just read the National Inquirer, paying extra attention to the space alien based news stories. you could probably get more honest news from al ahram, or pravda

Why are Liberals “the most dishonest and least tolerant. they tend to be able to excuse even the ugliest of behaviors on their own part”???

It is because they will not take personal responsibility for their actions but, instead, want to involve others as much as possible and hope that this will alleviate them alone from being guilty.

Analyze what Liberals do and you will find that they are naive to the extreme and do not want to wake up or grow up and live in the real world. Perhaps they are not capable of doing so.

I think part of the problem is your definition of what is a Liberal. Sort of like how Israel bashers have their own definitions for Apartheid and Zionism.

Your question is a rhetorical one. The only answer you want to see is some affirmation that Liberals are the worst people on this planet. Sound familiar?

Israel is still a Liberal cause. You may not know it. The people you define as Liberals may not know it. But I’m a Liberal, and I do know it to be true.

The Liberal of decades ago is not the Liberal of today. Instead of attempting to label all Liberals today with that older definition where “liberal” meant someone with an open mind and flexible to move with the times, the meaning today is of someone who is eager for change for change’s sake and not for any real, long-term improvement.

It might be constructive to label Liberals in a more definitive manner. Such as a Traditional Liberal or a New Age Liberal. Then we all be on the same sheet of music, so to speak.

I would suggest that you are referring to the-
Pseudo Humanists who have this masochistic view of life- that they must support who they think is the underdog- regardless of whether that underdog is in the right or wrong.

Even when that so called underdog is guilty of the most heinous of actions- which are diametrically opposite of these Pseudo Humanists ideals-
Such as punishments of death for adultery, blasphemy, apostasy and homosexuality.

Ever seen in the Independent or other such media condemnation of such punishments?

The National Enquirer is filled with all kinds of articles. There are also some good pictures nowhere else available, of course.

The National Enquirer has a lot of stories that are really of no importance in the real world. There is some “gossip” about well-known people that is sometimes useful but the question sometimes comes up as to their truthfulness.

On the other hand, the National Enquirer has come through with a true and interesting story that no other news outlet is willing to print. In this regard it does have some value. Also, the advertisements are often unique.

As with almost all Media offerings today, we have to read them with a critical eye and make sure to verify stories.

Hatred of and for Israel is hatred of the Lord God. Why do they hate him? This is spelled out in Holy Scripture.

The first commandment says it all: They put things and people before God and God is a jealous God. As the old saying goes, there will be a payday, someday. However, that eventual justice gives me no pleasure except to vindicate that God is a Just God and his justice is supreme and final. Those who put themselves or other things before him are merely dancing around their appointment with Justice unless there is Repentance (which means a change of direction, not merely a feeling of remorse).

It still boils down to their not accepting responsibility for their and others’ actions.

As a society/civilization grows and matures, unfortunately, they hide their fears of the unknown in a condition in this matter known as “judenhaas” or other associated mental/emotional illnesses.

Question….Do we all have to blow up each other into planetary insignifigance….AGAIN…. for another 6000 years; or is there a chance for a new survival phenomena?

Suing those responsible for defamation/slander would put them stage-center and the focus would be on them. It would call such attention to those who show hatred for Israel and partiality toward the “Philistines” would make sure that it someday or somehow is accepted due to not being challenged. Merely “going along with it” also has another effect: It incurs guilt on the behalf of those who do not bring it to the attention of authorities/public at large. Today, this principle is called Accessory after the Fact.

Ok I thought these “news” agencies also had dedicated photographers…. I though… [pause of bewilderment]… the photographers job IS an important one isn’t it?… I mean you do need a good REAL picture that connects you to the event as if in live time right?… Perhaps I am wrong, in thinking that: photographers make the news; as the saying goes “a picture says a thousand words.”

[reconsidering my previous assumption]: maybe I was wrong. Photography is actually a thing that takes weeks and months on end, to turn out ONE photo concerning the topic at hand; and so it is of no importance to have a picture of the ACTUAL event/place/thing. How silly of me.

I can fake a photo like that using my (black) maid and my palisade fence in front of my house. I need not even put a caption on it but the mere fact of the matter is that this is South Africa, my maid is black, I am white… Need I say more? It appears that there is a pre-disposition towards racial, ethnic and religious bias and I think that a lot of us (myself included, to my shame) sometime do it subconciously. BUT, when it is done for sensationalism, it is done with evil intent to inflame passions or orient people’s thoughts from something else happening elswhere!

The hatred of Jews that has gone on for thousands of years is not just a matter of race and cannot be reduced to mere racism. This would be too simple. It is hatred for a culture, for a people regardless of race.

Being a Jew and laced with Judaism is much deeper than a matter of race.

To most people caught up in social mindsets, race is connected too often to skin color alone. This is naive and reminds me of a little, three-year-old Indian girl (her father was from India) who kept looking at me and finally asked her father, “Why is he so orange?”

        Follow-up…

To emphasize my previous comment, I heard a man who was a missionary to Africa for many years talk about his return visit to America with is family. His little daughter, born and raised in Africa, became so quiet after arriving in America that the father and mother became alarmed.

After a few weeks of her being so quiet, he said he was driving through a neighborhood of Chicago where many Blacks lived on the way to a speaking engagement. Suddenly, the little girl sat up in the back seat, looked out the window and said excitedly, “Look! There’s people here.”

I would like to think that this is just down to a few bad aspects of the British media, but living in the UK, there is in many areas of society a definite anti-Semitism that likes to masquerade itself as anti-Zionism. It even produces a rather horrifying sense of self-righteousness in people in this country expressing such views, fully believing that Israel has no right to exist, and that everything going wrong in the Middle East (and sometimes elsewhere) is somehow little Israel’s fault. And they think that such a view is perfectly fine, and that it anyone who supports Israel’s right to exist is some Arab hater etc. To be honest, it scares me a bit to think were it could go.

Agreed! Furthermore, newspapers and “newsrags” will continue to do their ‘thang’ as long as idiots buy and read them. Those on the Left who need moral support will continue to buy them because they need to have something to point to when challenged about their “facts” when those things they use for proof are also lies. The old saying goes that it take a lie to support a lie and the faked photos and stories fall exactly in that category.

As long as papers like that with the faked photo/s are in business, they need to be checked and taken to task when they propagate falsehoods. Only then can they be stalled in their attempt to distort and malign the truth. Otherwise, it encourages them.

“UN Watch in Geneva, which quotes one of the senior officials of Hamas saying that the Gaza Strip, specifically the Gaza Strip only, is no longer Israeli-occupied territory and it refers, however, to some comments that Farhan made when he must have been doing the daily briefing two and a half or three years ago, saying that it is still the UN policy that the Gaza Strip is part of the Israel-occupied territory.”
So if Hamas say that Gaza is not occupied then it isn`t
So the cleverly cut photo , which when you see the full frame is there to deceive.
And you forget two important facts- Gaza has a border with Egypt which like Hamas is ruled by the Muslim Brotherhood- Have a go at Egypt
