Hamas Official’s Non-Sequitur of the Day

Wasfi Kabaha, a Hamas politician in the West Bank, told BBC reporter Jon Donnison:

Mr Kabaha says the military wing operates quite separately from the political wing of Hamas, taking most of its orders from Gaza or from Hamas leaders based in Syria.

But the Hamas figures who (pardon the pun) call the shots from Gaza or Syria are "political" too. As Hamas founder Sheikh Ahmed Yassin himself told Reuters:

“We cannot separate the wing from the body. If we do so, the body will not be able to fly. Hamas is one body.”
