Glenn Beck of CNN has produced a remarkable documentary on Islamic extremism that recently appeared on the news channel’s US domestic service. (Click below to view.)

As journalist Tom Gross writes:

“CNN host Glenn Beck criticizes the rest of the Western media, including by implication his own station CNN, for drastically failing to properly report on Islamic extremism. Beck says he decided to show some of the remarkable footage the rest of the mainstream media refuses to show because “Islamic extremism is the biggest threat to our way of life since World War Two and we’ll never be able to fight it if we can’t even see it.”

UNHRC: THE NYT GETS IT

The UN’s Human Rights Commission long served as an embarrassment to the organization, protecting human rights abusers while concentrating on attacking Israel. Its newly constructed replacement, the Human Rights Council has, sadly, as documented by organizations such as Eye on the UN, continued in a similar vein. This has been noted by a New York Times editorial of 21 November:

“The council is new, but its deliberations have already fallen into a shameful pattern. When it comes to the world’s worst and most consistent human rights violators, like China, Iran, North Korea, Myanmar and Sudan, there has been a tendency to muffle words and conclusions and shift the focus from individual and political rights to broader economic and social questions.

But when it comes to criticizing Israel for violations committed in a wartime context that includes armed attacks against its citizens and soldiers, the council seems to change personality, turning harshly critical and uninterested in broader contexts.”

HR ITALY FOUNDER PASSES AWAY

It is with great sadness that the entire staff of HonestReporting expresses its condolences on the passing of Shalom Noury (Shuny). Anti-Israel media bias is not just an English language phenomenon, and Shuny made sure that Italian speakers were well-equipped to push their media for more accurate coverage of Israel.

Shuny was the founder and for much of the time the only editor of HonestReporting Italy. He will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with his family and this communique is dedicated in recognition of his invaluable contribution in support of Israel and the work of HonestReporting.
