Israel can be rightly proud that it is the 13th best country in the world for women to work in according to The Economist’s glass-ceiling index.

Business Insider features the top 22 countries complete with illustrative photos. Almost all of the photos feature scenes of people representing those countries with recognizable public figures, locations or national colors.

All except Israel:

The photo appears to show a Jewish settlement in the background and what appears to be a Palestinian structure in the foreground as evidenced by the flag on the roof.

Hardly an appropriate illustration of the status of Israeli women, particularly when compared with the other 21 photos.

Why did Business Insider choose an unrepresentative, politicized and inappropriate photo?

A request to replace the image with something more appropriate has been sent. Watch this space.
