December 23, 2012 16:29 by

New York Times Israel bureau chief Jodi Rudoren is going to be kicking herself after posting this tweet:

A “Palestinian village inside Israel”?

Very sloppy.

I live in Binyamina and we are neighbors of sorts with Jisr. The majority of the population there originally came from Sudan and have a noticeably African look. So definitely not Palestinian from that angle.
Also I volunteer in the Police here along with a number of Jisr residents. They do not remotely consider themselves Palestinian. Even the troublemakers in Jisr (and there are more than a few) prefer to be Israeli rather than Palestinian.
But we shouldn’t be surprised anymore by anything the NY Times spews out. They take a special pride in getting it wrong.

The most ironic thing about this is that Jisr is the only Arab village that was founded by the Baron hanadiv Rotschild who also founded several Jewish communities in the area. He paid for the draining of the marshes in the area where these Arabs formerly lived, and as compensation he founded a village for them to live in.
It simply amazes me how a “respected” newspaper can send someone here who obviously doesn’t have a clue as to what is going on in the area.

She is a certified “hostile”, when she leaves or gets fired from the NY Times,
she can count on a job in one of Soros’s many NGO’s.

I remember learning about a village in an adjoining country (Lebanon? Syria? Maybe near the Golan Heights?) where i was bushwalking, arguing to stay Israeli when the borders were to be changed to give a little land back. They wanted the commodities, electricity, freedom and benefits of living within Israeli borders. I think she meant an ‘Arab’ village in Israel, don’t you? Such ignorance. Like Christchurch being an outlying city of Brisbane. …..

Perhaps someone at the NY Times was hung over from a Mayan apocalypse party. Less than a week after apologizing ...
