These are not spontanious demonstration; they are organized. Therefore, we need to ask ourselves just who is behind these so called “democratic outbreaks.” I see The Muslim Brotherhood with all its Terror Groups and Labor Unions. We now have proof that AlQueda soldiers are fighting with the rebels in Libya, but only FOX is informing us of this. I’m afraid that if this continues, the far left and the UN will try to justify going into Israel.

The UN will authorize sending troops into Israel shortly after they ratify the acceptance of a PA state on Israeli land. As the fighting goes on among themselves, Israels enemies are simply weakening there abilities to wage war against an outside enemy. The rebels are calling for help from the West and if this escalates we could see a small world war. Pray it doesn’t happen.

Obama set the precedent. Why not? Syrians have a history of killing lots of their own people too.

Obama has to earn his nobel peace prize by going after these types of thugs and mass murderers.

The plain truth is that Quaddafi is no worse than the tyrants, Ahmadinnejad and Assad, and currently is far less dangerous to the West than them. He is no angel, on the contrary, but NATO chose a soft target to get involved with. They will not dare to attack Syria or Iran however many of their civilians they kill in demonstrations. Let’s face the truth!

Imagine the US expending all its resources in aiding pretend democratic movements in the Middle Eastern terror supporting states, and this being what those behind the so-called democratic fights want, but they may actually be our enemies who wish engage us, thin out our ability to defend ourselves, further fracturing a broken Congress and dividing our citizens along lines that would not otherwise exist, because we isolate ourselves when responding to their perceived threats, actually causing us to ideologically emulate their ways, as we see in the offshoot zealots who wish to capture hearts and minds by hijacking our normal religious and political beliefs, as by right wing popular preachers who care more of politics than religion and tea partiers who have split off’ from their customary Republican right. The so-called Middle Eastern religious extremists or fundamentalists (Islamics) are devious and their Koran encourages this to defeat enemies by keeping them weak through misdirection, lies and false hopes. Imagine this as an Academy Award winning movie, similar to 7 Days in May and then think twice about how real these issues may actually be.

This is far too complex an issue for a simple answer. Having said that my view is that as with Libya the current leadership in Syria are bad guys. My fear is that what we will end up with in both places is an Iranian style theocracy that will be just as anti-west anti-Israel as the current leaders but more open to the idea of an all out war with Israel in an attempt to wipe it off the map regardless of the cost to their own country. As the dominos fall it’s hard to believe that the secular governments of the gulf states, including Saudi Arabia, will not ultimately fall. If this happens during the reign of Obama I suspect that the US will back an Egyptian style insurrection in Saudi Arabia and tell the American people that it is a fight for democracy. Nasser’s vision of a United Arab Republic may actually finally happen except now it will be more of a theocracy. All it needs at this point is a capable leader.

The West has to learn the Arab mentality. If you help them out they resent you because it demonstrates the fact that they can’t help themselves. The U.S. thought the Afghans and iraqi’s would greet them with flowers and kisses like the French did in WWII. Wrong!! The Arabs consider them infidels and Crusaders and are to be fought and killed. The only reason Libya matters is because of their oil. Syria has no oil so let them kill each other, something they manage to do quite well.

The president has no idea what he is doing. We should have never stuck our nose in their business. Obama acts as if he knows who he is dealing with and he doesn’t. So after the dust settles and the “rebels” have freedom and al quada and the muslim brotherhood are running the show, I’m sure the lamestream media will find some way to spin it. Maybe they could blame Bush? That has seemed to work for the last 3 years for all the other issues that obama has faltered in.

I was just talking with a family member about this. It came to me that with all that is going on now, could it be that we may well see the destruction of Damasks? Think about it. with so many prophecies being fulfilled, and being fulfilled at an increasing rate, does this not seem to show that we are now in the end times? Israel will do they must with or with out the blessing of the USA. If one was to look around right, and do so with an open heart and mind. Are not all nations, including the USA standing agents Israel at this time? True as it is that more than 1/2 wish us to stand with Israel, thous nitwits in DC, don’t care. They can not stand the idea of Israel remaining a nation. All that is good is thought of as being bad, and all that is bad is said to be good. The time is right, the atmosphere of the world is right.
All I pray is that Yeshua delay no longer, come and bring your Heavenly Kingdom to earth. That we will all live in true peace.

The West does not have the resources or finances to rescue every failed state in the Middle East. What is it these people are doing for themselves other than criticizing us for anything the West does for them? All I can offer at this point is a guess that whatever the reasons the Resident in Chief gave the US last evening, I think this is his first shot into the 2012 elections, and not too subtle either. This guy is such a rookie it boggles the brain how on earth he ended up running the show but we are where we are so no, this has zero to do with humanitarianism but plenty to do with this peculiar narcissist. Considering the economy, the abysmal health care bill, the savage taxes that are breaking the average family and his utter lack of realism I think Americans will not accept this creature the second time around. And indeed why should they? Incidentally, is he now preparing to send his minions into Darfur, North Korea and other hell holes on earth that make Libya look like club Med?

By “the West” you mean the US. Unfortunately the US takes its lead from the State Dept which is woefully incompetent. Who was minding the store when Mubarak was forced out of office? Who was shocked shocked shocked when the Libiyan uprising started? Who was taken totally by surprise when civil unrest spread to Bahrain? The same geniuses at State who are brainwashed into thinking the only problem in the middle east is the “settlements” and the only solution is two states. So why would anyone be surprised that the US is incapacitated in the matter of Syria and Libya for that matter. And all this is a diversion from tackling the real problem: Iran. Here’s a novel idea: 1 – figure out that the Saudis need to sell their oil more than we need to buy it. 2 – back the right horses in the region starting with Israel, and any other country that publicly commits to a secular/democratic form of government. 3 – deal with Iran.

Ah yes, the ‘settlements’, now there you have me Peggy, because for the life of me I cannot comprehend how it is that a tiny speck of a country such as Israel can refer to legitimate areas of her own state as ‘settlements’. To be sure some areas are in dispute, but settlements, and is that what they also call the residents of the disputed Kashmir I wonder? They are no such thing and frankly I tire of hearing them refereed to in such a derogatory manner. That this country Israel catches such hatred and condemnation from the ignorant, revolting throwbacks at the State Department is to me a literal crime, while the Arabs who dance and sing on the streets post slaughter of a family of ‘settlers’ in their beds is somehow a sort of accepted form of Middle Eastern humour, perhaps? From Sharon to Olmert to Netanyahu we have witnessed the shrinking of this beautiful State, dereliction of duty toward their people and outright crime, yet the people of Israel plough through life and still manage to produce medical and scientific miracles and an agricultural industry that one can only aspire to. All this, while the rest of the world nibbles at her borders and bays for her blood. There’s not much you could tell me that would shock me when it comes to that country, and we would be the worse off for the very thought of such a loss of this treasure. Best Wishes. Maura Collins.

Maura, Thanks for your thoughts, particularly about the scientific, agricultural and medical contributions Israel makes to the entire world, including some of it’s most vicious enemies. We can thank the press, humanitarian organizations like Amnesty Intl, the UN, jihadist fronts like CAIR, and the academic community to name but a few for creating the image that Israel is nothing but expansionist-crazed fanatics literally shoving the poor innocent indigenous population from their ancestral homeland. Best regards.

It wouldn’t surprise me if agents of Iran were behind all the unrest. Think about it. Their documentary evidence of the coming of the Mahdi is intended to show the logical progression of Ahmadinejad being their version of the messiah, which Islam borrowed from ancient Hebrews who refused to follow their self appointed prophet who never actually prophesied, and Christianity’s “second coming.”
If Iran is behind this, democracies would be fools to participate and give credence to their proclamations and false prophesies, which are only designed to gain their credibility within their corner of the world. Ahmadinejad fancies himself the next Adolph Hitler, whose regime many countries in the region emulate.
By playing into their hands, I mean giving credence to their claims that the West is in a war against Islam, which is only designed to mislead their own followers by giving them credibility.
By setting in place events that will happen, while simultaneously announcing after the fact that they claimed it would happen in the future, they claim the future is now and they are clairvoyant. Ergo, they hope to prove they are right, for the hearts and minds of followers who are being snookered.

The ancient Greeks, as most of us know, used to exile people adjudged to be a potential menace to the community by gathering together, passing out bits of clay (ostracons) and marking and submitting the names of such persons, depending on the popular vote, thereby “ostracizing” them. I suppose that our population booms since then make it impractical today, but it sounds so much more civilized.
If we can save Syrian lives and at the same time thereby cripple Hizbullah and the present regime in Iran so as to liberate the Iranian public as well. It’s a two for one shot!
It might make our task in Afghanistan and Iraq much easier inasmuch as they are being supplied by Iran and causing the loss of American and other lives. Perhaps this is all too simplistic.

And I thought I was the only one thinking that the whole Middle East in an uproar is Iranian planned and backed and aimed, first at the Suni states – especially Saudi Arabia – and then at the West in general and the US and Israel in particular. the bitter hatred between Suni nd Shia is as old as Islam and for much of that history the Shia were opressed and massacred by Sunis relentlessly. The Iranians (Shia) see the downfall of Suni domination and the rise of their own influence as their greatest victory. The fall of the house of Saud, breaking its dominance in the Arab world and its power abroad, and not least wrenching Islam’s holliest places (Mecca and Medina) out of their hands is the goal… and as one of the earlier commentators noted one they hope will hasten the return of the Mehedi (their version of the second coming) The other enemy is the West and the US and Israel in particular. Distabalising the region, harming Western interests in the region, getting the “world” off their back on the Nukes and endagering Israel by supporting not only terror groups but inciting behind the scenes the rise of the likes of the Muslem Brotherhood and its ilk in what will supposedly be “democratic” way that will fracture and weaken the Arab states will enable the rise of Iran’s influence and dominance in the region.
The rest will be easy (so their thinking goes….)

In short – should the west intervene? If that will put a spaner in the Iranian’s plan – Yes.
These murdering tyrants that have plagued the Middle East forever should go and a better life should be possible fo the milions opressed by them but it should be done gradually, carefully and in accordence with the ways of the region’s people and culture. Don’t expect Switzerland!

As for Israel – if endangered should be able to strike.

A resounding NO ! We should stay out of other countries internal affairs and let their people work it out…However, there seem to be too many countries having internal chaos, revolts, revolutions and unrest, which can’t all be happening without some instisgation. Let these countries take their issues to the UN which is supposedly a peace organization; nor should it send in troops….

Take out Quadafi’s artillery and heavy Armour is help enough.
If we teach, organize and supply weapons to the rebels it’s even better!
Maybe giving them a couple of old tanks?
This is a cheap way of deposing a tyrant.

While we are at it, why not do the same in Syria & Iran?

The only legitimate pro-democracy activists were the Iranians who were brutally killed and suppressed by that Islamic thug and mass murderer ahmednijed and which the west should have really stepped in to help. The rest are all Islamic thugs posing as pro-democracy activists to gain sympathy from our foolish leaders and media.

Obama refused to intervene in the Iranian crisis saying it was an internal matter so why are we interfering in the affairs of these muslim countries. The simple truth is that Obummer and the western leaders were afraid of nuclear powered Iran.

The best solution is to let these muslim barbarians in Libya, Syria etc kill one another which will be better for the rest of the world. Anyway, they are always complaining about the west interfering in their affairs so leave them alone and let them die.

They are not pro-democracy but Islamic fundamentalists and radicals opposing all these regimes.

I don’t want any civilians to get killed in any part of the world. But, untill there are no more missles shot into Isreal, and all realize in that part of the world that they all belong there, all religions started there, than I have to say AMERICA STAY OUT OF IT. Also, when Isreal defends itself, why is that considered wrong, or so it seems. We only see the casualties in the Arabic countries. Is this fair? NO NO NO
