“Strike Against Islam”: Daily Mail’s Provocative Headline

October 29, 2012 10:14 by

An air strike on a Sudanese weapons factory, allegedly carried out by Israel, has been described as a “dry run” for a potential future Israeli operation against Iranian nuclear facilities. The Daily Mail, however, seems to have got a bit mixed up:

Israel, of course, has no intentions of striking anybody’s religion.

How long before the Daily Mail realizes its faux pas?

Update: The Daily Mail has now changed the word “Islam” to “Iran”.

a week or so ago, a Daily Mail columnist also reported that Mossad was involved in the killing of the Iraqi scientist.

This paper is losing ground in the UK, probably due to its consist bad reporting. All the same, it does have a minority of pro Israel columnists. Their chief editor Max HAstings was pro Israel, but like so many, appears to have turned.. Wonder why? any ideas out there?

The Daily Mail’s headlines explicitly imply at Israel is attacking Islam. This is a blatantly provocative and untrue statement which clearly needs correction. How long is this apology going to take or indeed an admission of error?

Whom else could they blame besides Israel. These idiots at the Daily Mail, Guardian or what have you need a little geography lesson. The first thing they should learn is that Israel is 1128 miles from the Sudan and that would be quite a haul for the IAF to undertake without refuelling.

Do you think the Daily Mail will run a headline describing Hamas rocket launches into Israel as “Hamas fires rockets at Jews”? it would be at least accurate…..

This is a deliberately engineered act of sensationalism. The Daily Mail assumed the mantle of agent provocateur and only revised the headline after extensive damage had been done.

Again there was an article regarding the shooting and guess what? Yes, the Mossad was again mentioned. Absolutely incredible. Still, we must be grateful that some journalists have such vivid imaginations.

Martyman39, ever heard of Entebbe? The raid there by the IDF was conducted over a further distance than the Sudan might suggest. Yes, Israel does have refuelling methods. Their electronic warfare is also second to none. Iran is conducting a proxy war through various quartersd, including Sudan.

It now appears that since the raid, the Sudan is backing away from Iran. Interesting thought though, isn’t it?

I too follow Arutz7. Have you tried the Intelligence and Securty site at DEBKA.COM?

Following on the above… Alex Fishman, senior defence analyst for Israels top selling Yediot Aharanot dubbed the Sudan raid “A live practise run for Iran.” Iranian vessels docked there shortly after the raid as part of a good will visit.

Sensible this time perhaps, Israel is not making threats but remains tight lipped, as she should in cases like this

and palis, please forget your “israel is the genocide maker nazi” nonsense, it’s really amusing, like that badly drawn antisemite “CHINA, IL” totally WEIRDLY bad comic “series”, but you know, most people laugh at obviously moronic things not there, where the moronic content WANTS them to laugh, no, the laughing is AT, OVER that racist, antisemite, derogatory content.

    :)

LECHAIM We SHALOM. SUPPORT ISRAEL, USA. Or, you are not good. Obama doesn’t do enough for Israel and not enough against ANTISEMITISM in AMERICA.
