Success: SABC Removes Anti-Semitic, Recycled Photo

August 28, 2012 19:45 by

Yesterday, HonestReporting called South Africa’s SABC News onto the carpet for a nasty bit of photo bias.

I pointed out the photo’s irrelevancy (a 2010 Indonesian demonstration against the Mavi Marmara raid) to the story at hand (African migrants in Israel). Yarden Frankl also weighed in on the image’s anti-Semitic aspect.

Several HonestReporting readers forwarded us their SABC correspondence:

While we stand by the report, the SABC removed the image in response to the complaints received.

The SABC’s story‘s now illustrated by a map of the Mideast.

Thank you to all our readers who troubled themselves to contact SABC. Common sense prevailed.

there is a faulty link in today’s e-mail.

I tried to go to the TImes article[s] & had to do a site search to get it.

Please have your webmaster check the links in the future.

    Thank you
