The Age States Israeli “Apartheid” as Fact

In a report carried by Australia’s The Age, notice how the term “Israeli apartheid” is taken as a given in the absence of quotation marks:
Sixteen protestors who demonstrated against Israeli apartheid at a business in Melbourne’s CBD have had the bulk of charges dismissed. …
Mr Garnett said the protests were organised and attended by members of a coalition against Israeli apartheid as part of a campaign of Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions which had included members of a Socialist Alliance Group.
This shoddy piece of writing contributes to the false portrayal of Israel as an apartheid state. All it takes is a couple of quotation marks to correct the record… unless The Age thinks otherwise.

“The Age” has been demonising Israel for years. It was not an oversight.

Pretty shabby bit of phrasing.
Knowing the way things work at The Age, and with most of the copy editing now outsourced, there’s a fair likelihood that it was just a screw-up rather than a deliberate decision. Still, that’s no excuse and it shouldn’t have made it through the editing process.

It is unbelievable how world opiniuon is being sold the lie regarding Israel being called an ‘apartheid’ state. Nothing could be further from the truth. It demonstrates Goebels’ statement that if we tell a lie for long enough everyone will believe it is the truth. It is also a case of believeing what we want to believe irresepective of the evidence. This is clearly the case regarding media coverage by almost all the world’s nations. The media here basically subscribes to a lie, which they are flogging for all they are worth, in the hope that it will be received as ‘the truth.’ What a garbage set of people we have in charge of us and our affairs!

Just as the Arabs hijacked planes and forced them to go where they wanted them to, so has the UN been hijacked by the Arabs and it, too, has gone where they want it. The US has decided that hijacked planes that pose a threat to this country must be shot down to avert that harm, so, too, should the UN be shot down by choking off its supply of funds.
An organization that was founded to settle world problems amicably and fairly, has wandered far from that road to the wrong shoulder. It is no longer trustworthy, Write your congresspeople and senators and tell them the evidence supports this bias and not to support the UN.

Any honest person can recognize the serious conflict between reality for Palestinians and rejection of the term Apartheid for the daily conditions they face and Israel’s treatment of them. One has to be completely out of touch with reality and unwilling to look at the situation honestly to still deny such an obvious conclusion. I suppose that as long as you’re repeating it to yourselves and each other, you can convince yourselves that it’s true.
Like I said – out of touch with reality or intentionally dishonest?
