Fortunatelly for Israel, the diferent arab goups have never, never been united and I think this will be the case. After the honeymoon between this two terrorist groups, they will start betraying one eachother; however, Israel must be very alert and do something radical in the unlikely event there is a real unity and brotherhood between this two.

I suspect that Hamas will come out on top regarding the reconciliation. They are much more aggressive, much more radical towards religious leanings, and will likely push for Sharia law in the West Bank. Hamas will not shy away from taking their culture to the streets, even if it means killing Palestinians – they’ve done it before. Bottom line – I think with Hizbollah to the north, Hamas to the east and south, and the recent upsets in the Middle East, we can expect an outbreak of hostilities/way with Israel in the next 2-3 years, or sooner.

It is imperative that Israelis be unified to withstand the pressures put upon Israel by the Arabs and the World at large.
If you look at history objectively, you will see the delusional public/nations who believe the Arabs want peace. Peace is not in their vocabulary.
All they know is dictatorship abuse its people and terrorize the world. They call non-Moslem infidel and must be eliminated.
If they truly want peace with Israel – It will benefit all parties involved, you would take Israeli technology and know how combine it with Arab labor and resources and within 10 years you would have one of the most flourishing economies in the world. But the world at large is not interested in that peace; it will compete successfully in world markets.

i agree. I think one of the main problems is that Israel has been slapped in the face not only by the UN Security Counsel, European Union, and the US, but also by leftist Jews who think that all it takes is dialog to make peace. While dialog without war would be nice, it is not likely to happen. Israel has become the victim of world bullying. And bully victims know that turning the other cheek does nothing except embolden the bully.

Absolutely no impact. Rockets and mortars will continue, school buses will remain targets and terrorists will continue to use civilians for shields. No impact

Zou treeifa vezou nevela explains and describes Fatah and Hamas in Kashrout explanation. Both have a charter aiming for the destruction of Israel. Thus it is time to wake up from this wet dream that peace is possible with the invented “Palestinians” out of the Arab refugees that no Arab state is willing to absorb to this day for the express aim of destroying Israel this way since they could not in the field of battle even having many, many times more population than Israel when all are united for the final push to destroy Israel.
The question must be asked from the UN. Iran is still a member even though it declared that it aims to destroy a member of the UN, Israel. Then why is it that “The Palestinians” were given observer status at the UN and even considering it as a member while they have charters describing their existence for the purpose of the destroying a UN member, Israel? It follows that the question must be asked. Does the UN has any relevance anymore being controlled by Arab states dedicated to the destruction of a member, namely again Israel?

Why do we not sue the UN – massive petitions against the security counsel and the human rights counsel? Otherwise, the UN will do nothing. The Arabs (at large) have declared that they will not stop until they “take back” all of “Palestine” – which they define as “from the River to the Sea”. Of course, most of the world could care less. Needless to say, that without Israel, the Muslim movement will be to expand their influence glabally to create their “Global Califate”. I wonder what everybody would say if they had to taste what Sharia Law is like?

This is step one in a plan towards announcing via the UN the state of Palestine along the demarcation lines of 1967. Step two will be the launching of rockets from Judea and Samaria onto Tel-Aviv that will lead to all out war with the PA/Hamas, and the re-control of Judea and Samaria by Israel, the elimination of PA/Hamas and a new peace agreement with Jordan that will divide up Judea and Samaria including its occupants between Israel and Jordan.

An alternative outcome was suggested by MK Danny Danon (Likud) who is preparing bills to annex Judea and Samaria and repeal Oslo should the UN unilaterally declare a PA state in September, then all out war will happen etc.

It will never be easy for Israel to do anything that involves protecting its citizens, but it now might be easier (assuming the PA’s unilateral decision fails) to prove to the world that we do not have a partner for peace in the region. ‘vehara’aya’ (and the proof is) the PA united with a world recognized terrorist organization!

It really makes no difference. There is no Arab Country that ever wanted peace. Why bother trying to negotiate with them or the rest of the world is beyond me. The UN is a BIASED and crippled organization. .Imagine Syria as a candidate for the Human Rights. Imagine negotiating with states that do not honouir agreements. Its time we refuted England ,France and Spains calls for negotiated seettlements when Israel will be cut down to a mere few square miles.

We should comment only after Hamas and PLO have decided on the details of this agreement…..and then wait at least a week after they have signed the agreement to see if they will honour it.

What are you a comedian? Hamas agreements. They have one they all agree on. That of the destruction of Israel and replacing it with a Islamic state. As for Fatah or if you prefer The PLO. Which agreement did they held to? They signed the Oslo agreements returning the PLO from retirement in Tunis that stipulate that only through mutual agreements with Israel can they have anything. Abbas refused to seat down with the PM of Israel to hammer agreements they would immediately destroy. They still have like Hamas a charter wish aim for one thing: The destruction of Israel. The Palestinian nation was invented for this purpose only after Egypt and Jordan lost their land grab gained with the help of Britain in 1948 when 7 Arab nations united to destroy Israel. 2 of the 7 did not do much; Saudi Arabia was part of the coalition but not on the battle field. They are too delicate. Sudanese fought in hand combat in a place called Faloudj’a when the combatants ran out of ammunitions. The Sudanese lost.

Very seldom do we read about the REAL struggle going on in the Middle East, which is a ‘Spiritual Battle’ between the powers of darkness, led by the worshippers of the moon-god baal (advertised on top of all their gathering places) and the Forces of Light led by the Creator God Jehovah, who vanquised satan in the Mount Of Crucifiction (Also advertised in top of all their places of Worship) two thousand years ago. We as Humans will have to use our free will to make sure we will be on the winning side individually, before it is our time to stand before Him on our Day of Judgement.

For a change, it’s a very clever move: The Palestinian State will be recognized by the UN in September and neither Hamas nor PA will wants to stay ‘outside’ or alone when it happens. They will probably declare their territorial limits which will necessarily include land occupied by Israel and Israeli citizens. This alone would be enough to trigger another war. Also, with Abbas getting older and not a candidate for the next elections, not having prepared a heir for the job from among his close supporters, and having lost much of the support he used to have because of corruption accusations etc., it will be ‘natural’ for a Hamas candidate to win the elections, especially if they are held for Gaza and West Bank as one entity. This would bring a Hamas leadership for the new Palestinian State and the probable war that will follow… Meanwhile, at least apparently, Israeli government has not done anything to prepare, avoid, prevent any of such events, except perhaps for increasing its arsenal. With the chaos going on in other Arab countries and the already very poor image of Israel in world public opinion, Israel will get little or no support in the conflict, especially in a time when Palestinians, more than ever, will be seen as “freedom fighters”.

The next two years, are for building “trust” between Hamas & Fatah.
The following two years, are for setting up elections.
But to have real change on the ground, it will take democracy, real one, not the one comming in the next 4 years.
For peace to happen, the mind of the incoming generations will have to be purged of hatred.
Hatred has been inbeded into the soul of children, thus, no amount of trust will be enough. Remember, we are discussing a people that do not even hesitate in killing theitr own. Killing is their business… it really matters very little that you are an Italian or British journalist fitting on the Paletinian side.
My Guess is that D- day is 8 years away, it will be wide and it might draw a lot of countries into the conflict. I predict a massive Israeli retaliation followed by massive UN intervention… and another war….. 20 years from now future Palestinian generations may be more educated and harder to fool by some crazy goverment, pursuing an obscure agenda based on story telling based on hating all non believers.

It is quite clear. There is no difference between Fatah and Hamas about the desire to destroy Israel. The only difference is the methodology. It is also quite clear that now support of the Palestinians means support for the destruction of Israel. Luckily the Palestinians have overplayed their hand again, giving us a view of their real intentions. As for the U.N., they have been and are currently supporting the idea of an Islamist state of Palestine without regard for its terrorism or the Palestinians’ desire to destroy Israel. It is time for Canada to stop supporting the U.N. – to stop supporting the idea of an Islamist Palestinian state, to stop funding the Palestinians, because the funding is really of Islamism and terrorism, and to stop supporting an organization that would make Syria a member of its human rights commission and whose orgnization, UNRWA would not support teaching Palestinian children about the holocaust because it would confuse them. As the Liberals and NDP strongly support the U.N., I strongly suggest voting Conservative.

I agree with the pessimistic perspective expressed by many on this site. One thing I wish to add is the following. Whenever that inevitable and unfortunate conflict breaks out, Israel most likely will have the ability to prevail, except just like in the past, that great supporter aka Uncle Sam will make certain that the precious conclusive victory within reach will not be Israel’s. The US leadership, the CIA, the State Dept. and the Pentagon are (and always heve been) loaded with arabists. The only support Israel can count on are some Republican members of Congress.
Look at the US historical performance. Hungary 1956, Suez 1956, Bay of Pigs 1961, Iran 1979, Lebanon 1983, derecognition of Tajwan, Georgia 2008, and throwing Mubarak under the bus. Isn’t reliance on the US heartwarming?

This may actually help us in some ways. Abbas tried to blackmail us to accept unfair terms with his statehood-declaration ultimatum. But can we be blamed for refusing to negotiate with a government that has the genocide of the Jews as an official goal?.. Knowing this world the answer is probably yes. But, if Abbas goes through with his threat, I doubt anyone except the usual haters would still support him.

I think that all the doves that want to go to pre 1967 borders should give up their homes and give them to the ‘refugees’ that fled in 1948 and move to gaza. But, first should cross the gaza border and have a big solidarity parade of support. That would be the end of them!

I feel that the unity of these parties will create more stability in the governments of these nations. This does leave the possibility of an agreement becoming more likely. However given the tensions in the region I feel that this will be more of a threat to Israel.
