If the bid were accepted, or even if their status is upgraded to observer, the Palestinians will dig their heels in harder; they will not compromise the same way they have not compromised in the last 18 years.
Perhaps the Israelis should follow suit

‘For GOD so loved the world, that He gave His only SON, that whoever believes
in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.’
Amazing how stupid Christians can be that they cannot spot this obvious forgery
These are supposed to be words of Jesus, but he is talking of himself in third person.
He is also talking about something that has not yet happened in the past tense. (He is still alive, but is talking as if crucifixion has already happened).
The language and the style are totally different from any other quotes from Jesus: Read his parables, or his sermons.
Such garbage has been inserted into the Gospels by retarded Catholic bishops in the 3rd and 4th Century.

Jesus knew that he was going to give his life for humankind, and so He could say that He gave his own life. Jesus died for all of us, but we can only take advantage of this by giving ourselves to Him.

First is it time to close the border with Gaza- and ask why Hamas have not declared themselves a state-
Then maybe Israel should annex all the settlements. I take it as read that all Jerusalem is part of Israel.
Now I do not live in Israel- So its easy to talk- But there has to be a time that appeasement stops.
For this move by Abbas is sinister in itself. and will not bring a solution.
Was it not Mahmoud Abbas – the architect of the strategy for the destruction of Israel -who said- “Not with one stroke, but gradually, in stages”, like the creation of a Palestinian state is part of it.
When he was “.doctor” of the Oriental Institute of Moscow in 1982 with a thesis.

All Jewish people need to do more in the way of serving our Creator/Parent who is also our King. Each in their own way wether it’s davening(prayer), learning Torah- which expresses the Will of our Creator- or doing acts of kindness. Ahavas Yisrael(love for one another), achduth(unity) and fulfillment of mitzvoth(put up a mazuza, eat kosher food and celebrate the Shabbos), especially those that are specific to Ha’aretz(the Holy Land) and that includes dwelling in Eretz Hakodesh, which is the reason that The Holy One, may He be blessed, gave the Holy Land to Klal Yisrael. Then there will be peace.

Sure, we serve our God by expelling Arabs from our land.
This is the major commandment.

When Obama said in advance that he would veto any UN granting of statehood he relieved many UN members from the hard choice of voting yea or neigh. Even youngsters of my day in the 30 s would know better than doing that

Anyone that knows the Palestinians and listens carefully to what their leaders say for internal consumption, knows very well that they do not want peace with Israel, they do not want a two state solution-THEY WANT TO ELIMINATE ISRAEL ALL TOGETHER !!!! As such, nothing will move them to peace talks with Israel.

The Palestinian Arabs’ bid for UN membership will have absolutely ZERO impact on the prospects for peace. The PA has NEVER negotiated in good faith, and they have no interest whatsoever in getting a state of their own alongside of Israel, UNLESS such a state can serve as a jumping-off point from which they can bring about the destruction of the State of Israel. The entire negotiation process is nothing but an exercise in futility. When the UN gives them what they want, they will pocket their “state” as a step forward in their effort to destroy the State of Israel. They never had any intention of living side by side with a Jewish State of Israel Since the prospects for peace have never been higher than zero, since Oslo in 1993, because of Arab intransigence, the farce being played out in the UN cannot have any effect whatsoever on the prospects for peace.
What brought Anwar Sadat to Jerusalem to negotiate a peace treaty with Israel was his observation that despite all the advantages that the Arabs had in terms of equipment and attainment of complete surprise for the Yom Kippur War in 1973, they were trounced anyway.
The Palestinians weren’t participants in that process. The ONLY way their their position might possibly be changed, so that they might be willing to make genuine concessions and reach a real peace agreement, is if they would sustain a profound military defeat similar to what Egypt suffered in 1973.

How much clearer can it be when the Palestinians at the UN are distributing maps sans Israel, showing ONE STATE CALLED PALESTINE. It has never been a Peace Process, only a Piece Process with Israel giving away her secutity. They have always wanted the complete destruction of the State of Israeland the US is giving them the weaPONS.

The Palestinians want to eat the cake and keep it. Even if Palestine is recognised most of the inhabitants of Judea and Samaria will become Palestinian citiszens. They will remain refugees receiving millions of dollars and Euro’s to pay the salaries and feed the hungry.
If they become a state, terrorism coming from that state will be an act of war from one state to enother, meaning that Israel can put a claim to the Security council for every incident and Isreal should do that so teh world can see the uselessness of this institution United Nations (against Israel)

There will be no peace – this is the reality when all the Arab leaders simply want Israel not to exist at all, which has been publicly stated many times by different leaders.
This from a recent email I received:
“…This “recognition” will be given without any caveats about dismantling PA terrorist organizations, no conditions regarding ending the incitement to hatred and murder of Jews and Israelis, no requirements for demilitarization, nor any obligation to recognize Israel as a sovereign state.
In a recent article, Jerusalem Post reporter, Isi Leibler, referred to the United Nations as “depraved”.
Some bizarre facts Isi uncovers about the United Nations:
» The Libyan representative served as president of the UN General Assembly in 2009
» Libya was succeeded in July this year by Qatar with Iran as a vice president
» Genocidal Iranian president Ahmadinejad repeatedly addresses the General Assembly as an honoured guest
» Nuclear arms proliferator of North Korea has been elected to chair the Conference on Disarmament
» Iran, notorious for stoning women, has been appointed to the UN Commission on the Status of Women
» 80 percent of members of UN Human Rights Council are either “not free” or “partly free” countries
» Richard Falk, the UN special rapporteur on human rights claimed that the US backed and executed the 9/11 attacks
» The Advisory Committee includes Jean Ziegler from Switzerland, who praises Fidel Castro and Zimbabwe dictator Robert Mugabe and co-founded the “Gaddafi International Prize for Human Rights”
» 70% of all resolutions from the UN Human Rights Council are directed against Israel!
The bottom line is that the United Nations is deeply corrupt. They have been discriminating against Israel for many years holding them to a standard demanded of no other nation, delegitimizing and demonizing Israel to such an extent that almost any resolution directed against Israel is given credence by the General Assembly…”

This vote at the unners needs to be finished NOW. Let the chips fall where they may at the unners. I have reviewed plenty of legal, political, diplomatic, and military treatises on the aftermath and formed my opinion. Remember, this is regarding the aftermath.
The upgrade status is one more weapon in the ramallah/gaza autonomous entity warbag. It will not be a state in any case, not now nor in the future. Israel will be basicallly relieved with further pointless rehashing of incessant pieceprocessing. The Jewish State will annex just those parts of the administered territories in which the most Jewish citizens reside; they will continue to retain control over the rest of the lands as is now being done.
The fruitless wars will go on; that is the best peace that Israel is going to get, the one it has had for the past 63 years. It can protect itself very nicely militarily. It will expand its Foreign Ministry further with talent from within and without of the country, staffing with the best attorneys, complaint destroyers, court suit beaters, forum ignorers, and the like that the arabs toss their way via the unner specialized agencies, courts, forums, and so on and so forth. Just another front of lawfare and diplomaticfare. Emanently disposable. The arabs get nowhere and are still stuck as squatters on Jewish administered territories, subject to Israel rule, no votes. Just autonomy, never sovereignty. No self-economy, just international charity.
There is a reason for Israel to take the hard stand. The old and fully discredited PIECEPROCESSOSLODEADEND and TWOSTATESOLUTION carried to its logical conclusion is the Final Solution To The Jewish Question. We’ve been down that road before and cannot afford that or anything remotely like it. Imagine, if you will a democratic Israel cheek&jowell with a terrorist entity upgraded to an actual state at war with Israel and dedicated to its destruction and the killing of all of its people. Come on, folks, time to play hardball. Our lives are more important that pleasing the goyim, eh?

I side with all the ones who are for Israel..I pray for the peace of Jerusalem every day..God will be in charge whatever the outcome..there are millions of people praying over this PO bid for a state..I’m a Canadian and am very glad our Prime Minister Stephen Harper is backing Israel because he knows what God’s word says about blessing Israel..
Why overnight has the stock market crashed..it is a sign..stop what you are doing in this evil pursuit by the PO..and for all those who are cursing Israel, God said I will curse them..

Is it possible that after failing with this bid to legalize their demands, the more radical people like hamas will take over even in the westbank?
Is it possible that finding a way to get into negotiations with Abbas and the fatah over a reasonable time like 18 months or so could give time to avoid the impulses of the actual “Arab revolution” on the palestinians?
Is it possible that having something to prevent and to build on like the perspective of their own state could prevent them from going to war for getting their country?
Is it possible that you support the less radical faction in fighting for peace instead of pushing hamas to fighting for independent Palestine?
It is not the time for philosophy and bible lessons.
It is the time to dicide: for living in peace or fighting a fruitless war that only the radicals in the Arab world can win. Think of a good strategy. Dwekut be matara is not always a short way.

Any action by the UN to grant enhanced state status to the Palestinians does nothing to bring about peace and maay bring about the complete opposite. The real problem is that if the Palestinians gain observer status like that given to the Varican, this will enable them to seek recourse in the World Court for the grievances they believe exist. That body has a spotty record at best and is nothing more than another anti-semitic, anti-Israel entity. Israeli leaders and military personnel will be subject to arrest anywhere in the world for “war crimes” and “crimes against humanity”. Political, social, military and financial sanctions will be sought. If its track record is any barometer, the UN will visit these penalties on Israel warranted or not. These probabilities are the real tragedy of any UN vote in favor of a Palestinian state.

Defeating the Palestinian bid will not bring peace but losing it will bring war. It will feed the ‘delusion’ that if the Palestinian ‘state’ provokes Israel into a serious Gaza style retaliation it will appeal to the UN for protection as a member state and other countries will step up to send military forces. Even a Libya style air support to protect the ‘civilians’ is predicted.

Abbas and his people do not want peace. They want all of Israel without the Jewish people. That is their goal. The world needs to realize this. They are chipping away at this goal with the lame excuse of becoming a United Nation member. It is a sad day that so many countries clapped in support of this action. Israel defended itself in 1945 and in subsequent wars. The Israeli people have such a small state now. It is difficult to defend itself now. Imagine having to give up the Golan Heights and other strategic areas. And East Jerusalem. No Way!!!!!!!! The Arabs would be at your back door. The Arabs need to take care of their own people in their own areas and get on with nation building with the land and resources that they have. I am standing with Israel as are many in America.

One of the most striking examples of the bias exhibited by the BBC in supporting the Palestinian claims, however spurious, and dismissing the concerns of Israel.
Both Netanyahu and Abbas addressed the UN, each voicing their thoughts on the subject. For Abbas they give a full page account plus video of what they call ‘Annotated Extracts’.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-15043422
These are interspersed with the additions of BBC’s journalist, Jonathan Marcus, to add extra weight to whatever he said to make sure it would be interpreted by the reader in exactly the right way the BBC want you to understand it. Almost like a fawning echo, in case you didn’t get the drift the first time round.
He ends on this note: JONATHAN MARCUS: This is by far the best turn of phrase in the speech and certainly the best sound-bite: “bridges of dialogue” versus “checkpoints and walls of separation”.
The speech, which was strong on setting out the Palestinians’ historic case and clearly played well among his supporters, included a strongly-worded appeal for dialogue with Israel in skilfully-worded terms
You can read the full article for yourself, but I warn you this content shows a man sticking his head up the backside of another man.
For Netanyahu’s address they give you this – Read it and Weep!

First, it isn’t going to happen. But if it did, kill Israel good bye; that would be the end of a Jewish state anywhere in the world which is exactly what the terrorists want. We MUST STOP USING THEIR LANGUAGE TO DESCRIBE THEM. There is no such thing as a Palestinian, why do our leaders and ourselves continue to call them Palestinians when all they are are Arabs. We MUST stop calling the West Bank the West Bank and go back to its original names: Judea and Samaria.
By recognizing them as anything other than what they are, Arabs, we give them credence. I LOATH our kowtowing to them.
They are NOT going to get anywhere with their trying to convince the world that they are ready for peace when what they really mean is that they are ready for PIECE, that “piece” being the entire state of Israel.
Lying about something does not make it so. The Arabs claim that we are occupying their land. That is nothing but a huge pile of steer stool! They have had their chances for their own country and for some reason only know to them, they back away from independence so that they can garner sympathy from the world and they are getting it. The world swallow whole the BIG LIES that the Arabs tell about Israel. They call us apartheid to cover the fact that EVERY ARAB COUNTRY IS NOT ONLY APARTHEID BUT JUDENFREI. They are guilty of ethnic cleansing. They moan and groan about the horrible day they were “forced” to leave their homes. How about the nearly one million Jews who were 91forced to leave every Arab country? WE took them in; the Arab countries have refused to take even a single Arab in.
All that Abbas’ move will bring about is nothing. Hopefully, the Arabs will finally figure out for themselves that continuing to declare war on Israel is hopeless. We will beat them every single time because Hashem has the control over this little planet.
Off the topic, I live in Texas where we have had the worst drought in years and next year is being forecast to be the same. I will have to move to Oregon for the summer next year as I cannot take the heat any longer. Today is October 1 and it is currently 91 outside. It may be the same for years to come. Ugh.
