Biography
David Shire was born in Glasgow, Scotland to a Scottish mother and English father who was living in Sydney during the beginning of World War II when he was drafted into the Australian and then, the British army. David studied Biology at Glasgow and London Universities before coming to Israel on a WUJS program in Arad during which time he made Aliyah and went on to start his PhD at Hadassah Hospital.
Taking a sabbatical in 1987 to concentrate on his passion for landscape gardening, David formed “White Flower Gardening” which remains his main source of income through today.
In 1994, David and his wife Myriam, formerly from Djerba in Tunisia, moved from Jerusalem to Neve Daniel with their children, for the increased quality of life offered by living in a peaceful satellite community, and in 2009 they started Lone Tree Brewery, a nano-brewery in the Gush.
