Biography
Dr. Harvey Belik was born in Melbourne and made aliya in 1988. He is a family medicine specialist and a Medical Officer and Reserve Major in the IDF. Harvey’s volunteer work took him to Thailand after the Tsunami of 2005; Odessa, Ukraine as a Jewish Community Medical Lecturer in 2006; Zambia in 2008; and Haiti after the earthquake of 2010. Since 2009 Harvey has been a volunteer at the African Refugee Clinic of Tel Aviv and is a Director of the NGO Budo for Peace, which uses traditional martial arts to build trust between peoples and educates Israeli and Palestinian youth about tolerance and non-violent behavior. He is a Board Member of the Israel Aid Mission, which provides disaster relief worldwide.
