Biography
Itamar Marcus is the founder and director of Palestinian Media Watch, an Israeli NGO that studies Palestinian society by monitoring the Palestinian Authority’s Arabic media and schoolbooks. PMW analyzes Palestinian Authority (PA) culture and society from numerous perspectives, including studies on summer camps, poetry, schoolbooks, religious ideology and television. Since 1996, PMW reports have played a critical role in documenting the contradictions between the image the Palestinians present to the world in English and the messages to their own people in Arabic. PMW research has been a key factor in understanding the Palestinian Authority.
