Some Sane Voices Standing Up to the Pitchfork Mob

It seems not a day goes by without being reminded about how so many in the world of entertainment are morally bankrupt.

Heck, so many in the world generally.

But let’s focus on the entertainment world for a second, especially given how we have all been made to feel that the Ed Sheeran-Macklemore controversy is the most important issue facing the free world today.

The ever erudite Brendan O’Neill is particularly worth listening to on this topic. He recently appeared on TalkTV to discuss the issue, and came out with too many worthwhile zingers to list individually.

Meanwhile, another voice of reason has emerged – a surprising one from the world of Eurovision no less. Lion Ceccah, who represented Lithuania at Eurovision 2026, is making waves for using his Instagram stories to push back on exactly the kind of groupthink O’Neill was describing:

Naturally, Lion Ceccah is being targeted by the pitchfork mob, but he doesn’t seem to care too much. His response? A refreshingly blunt refusal to back down:

Both Brendan O’Neill’s and Lion Ceccah’s refusals to bend the knee to online intimidation are a sharp reminder of what’s missing in the media and modern pop culture: actual backbone.

Kudos to the both of them for standing up to the bullies.
