The top diplomat in the incoming US administration has confirmed that the American Embassy in Israel will remain in Jerusalem. Joe Biden’s nominee for secretary of state, Tony Blinken, added that there would be no reversal of Donald Trump’s decision to recognize the holy city as the capital of the Jewish State.
In his confirmation hearing, Blinken also said that the Biden White House was committed to forging a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Regarding Iran, Blinken said that US officials would consult with Israel and Arab allies in the Middle East before deciding on the fate of the 2015 multilateral nuclear deal.
