Biography
Bob Lang has been active in Gush Etzion and Efrat for over 30 years holding formal and informal positions. He has also lectured to visiting groups, diplomats and journalists about the communities in YESHA and the peace process. At present, Mr. Lang is the Head of the Efrat Religious Council.
He has been a resident of Gush Etzion since 1975 after making Aliya from Nanuet, New York. Mr. Lang earned his Bachelors degree in Dairy Science from the University of Wisconsin as well as a Masters in Business from Boston University/Ben Gurion University.
Mr. Lang was one of the founders of Karmei Tzur, the southernmost community of Gush Etzion. He also served as a member of the Gush
Etzion Regional Council.
He was the spokesman for the YESHA (Jewish Communities in Judea Samaria & Gaza) Council.
After the signing of the Oslo Accords Mr. Lang was active in monitoring implementation as well as defining final status issues first for Peace Watch and then for the Institute for Peace Implementation. During the Netanyahu government, Mr. Lang was an outside advisor to David Bar Ilan at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Mr. Lang was the administrative coordinator of the Braun School of Public Health and Community Medicine at Hadassah Hospital/Hebrew
University.
He served as a city council member in Efrat. Mr. Lang just completed a term as senior advisor to the Mayor of Efrat. He is a member of the Board of Governors at the College of Judea and Samaria.
Mr. Lang is married to Barbara and the father of four children.
